A good day to get lost in some quality Tangerine Dream. Force Majeure (1979), one of TD’s biggest selling albums, is a gem of progressive, experimental rock with a heavier guitar presence than previous TD works. Side 1 is the single-track “Force Majeure” (18+ min), a river of audio tranquility. Side 2 is two tracks: “Cloudburst Flight” and “Thru Metamorphic Rocks” which feel more musically diverse than “Force Majeure” yet very tight compositions.
The original release of this album was pressed to clear vinyl (see photo), with later releases on black vinyl. Force Majeure in the clear vinyl pressing (Virgin V2111) and other great vinyl albums will be on sale at the upcoming Love the Music Record Show (2/26).
